Registered Bulls
The Blevins Angus Ranch takes great pride in raising bulls who show merit in fertility, weaning weight, and calving ease. Our calves are raised up to wean directly off pastures and their mothers’ milking capabilities. Wayne does not believe that supplemental feeding up to weaning truly shows his cows and calves potential. Allowing his animals to mature on their own shows quality of stock while also showing that the B.A.R has the integrity to not inflate the animals’ EPD’s.
The bulls are fed to gain on average 3 pounds a day after weaning and not pushed too hard so that they are unsustainable on pasture. Our bulls don’t break down. They have proven performance in rugged terrain with sage brush without developing sheath problems affecting their breeding ability.
The pounds are in the genetics here at the Blevins Angus Ranch. Our bulls are not overly fattened on feed. We want to raise and breed bulls you can use to increase your weaning weights, sustainability, and profitability. One commercial buyer noted that his weaning weights went up 100 pounds after using our seedstock! This is exactly why we are in the business, We may not be the most well known, but we KNOW our customers.
Wayne takes great care in pairing up AI’d sires to his cows to produce calves with calving ease. The yearling bulls offered in our annual sale must pass quality checks before entering the ring: they are always fertility tested and expected to meet Wayne’s standards of depth, temperament, and daily gain. The Blevins Angus Ranch will always guarantee their breeding animals and only allow animals up for sale who exemplify their criteria.
